Older Educator

My Qualifications Becoming a teacher/tutor requires kindness, dedication, hard work and a lot of patience. The best teachers are patient, accepting, and compassionate. They empathize with what the students are thinking and feeling, thus anticipating what they need in order to learn and thrive. When a student is struggling, good teachers/tutors hide their irritation and refrain from making critical comments that only make the situation worse. Instead, caring teachers will try anything and everything in order to reach each and every student. It can be interesting at times, but a good teacher Read more

Milton was patient with my lack of being prepared to discuss analysis. I think for that reason, the session was frustrating. Milton was able to work out a few problems by hand. I was able to look at what he did later and understand the material more, to the point of being able to work on other problems in the analysis. Third session: I had a little bit better understanding of analysis questions and we talked about instructors updates to assignment. We also critiqued a research article and I learned to complete thoughts and substantiate my comments. I was able to finish the assignment on my own, and also able to help two peers complete their assignments utilizing techniques I learned from Milton. In our fourth session, my understanding of so many concepts seem to be coming together. Milton has been a tremendous resource. During our face to face meetings he presents material based on my current level of understanding and encourages me to take the next steps applying what I've learned. I greatly value his continuing support through email correspondence as I synthesize material be learned. Milton continues to be a tremendous asset, supporting my learning. He has amazing talent to recognize my understanding of concepts and take them to new levels. Milton continues to be very enthusiastic about exploring my assignments, which is infectious. Thank you Milton for all your help. I learned more from our meetings and your correspondence than I did in class. You get an A+
Excellent command of the french language, both orally and in grammatical structures. Has a professional demeanor for such a young tutor. He needs more experience in learning techniques to get a student to speak more in the language the are studying. He was very helpful to me with pronunciation of the french.
Valan was the first tutor I used through WyzAnt , and I had the best experience. I found a great tutor the first person I tried. This was a relief since I needed someone right away. I was able to get all the help I needed, Valan is very good at what she does , she's very nice, patient and loves what she does and really wants you to get it . It was very easy to set up appointments, which made it very convenient. I can't say enough good things about Valan, she's the best!!
I am a college student who needed help with Spanish 101 and 102. I had never taken a foreign language before, but Kristin was very patient while helping me to understand the material. She was always very easy to reach with questions outside of our tutoring sessions, and was flexible with her scheduling. I could not have asked for a better tutor. Thanks Kristin!
