Throughout my undergraduate and graduate career I have perfected the path toward retaining long-term information and transferring these skills into a successful academic career. In college, the most frustrating thing to me was studying a subject so thoroughly and still not understanding it beyond the exam. What helped was the long-term study methods that finally allowed me to unders... Read more

Education is the passport to the future

In a nutshell, I am a passionate, driven, open-minded individual who is a strong proponent of education. I am very creative and I understand that everyone has a distinct method of learning. Manuel understood very quickly what I needed to learn Spanish at my pace and where I am with my current knowledge of the language.
Robert tutored me on controls fundamentals (like s-plane, first-order systems, and root-locus plots). He provided tons of information for me to take home on the topics I am studying, and came well-prepared despite not having my course text.
I studied with the help of Alex for one semester and saw a drastic change in performance after his lessons. My performance during the first semester of 10th grade was constantly at a borderline C-. My test results always came up dismally low and I was worried I would have to lane down. With the 2nd half of the school year I opted to stay in my course but enlist a tutor's help and I came across Alex. Upon meeting him I saw he had confidence in the material as well as familiarity with the pressure in Palo Alto schools. He is easy to communicate with, ask questions from and also receive college advice from. Over the course of a few months I saw a huge turn around in my results and my teacher was thrilled. My testing average rose by 20% and I my overall grade rose by a letter. Most importantly, I felt an appreciation for the subject that I had deemed beyond my ability. I am definitely going to enlist his help with the coming new school year and suggest anyone else needing help in math to contact him.
Doug is a great tutor for me! I finished my first class yesterday and I would like to learn writing English with him for a long while. Thanks for your help!
