Rohit

Career & College Readiness Professional

I have taken many sociology courses at the college level, to the extent I even decided to add it as my minor. As of now my minor GPA stands at a perfect 4.0 / 4.0. Subjects I have taken include Race & Ethnicity, Social Stratification, Immigrants & Immigration, among others including the Intro class. I have helped many friends understand these topics through multiple study groups I have had the pleasure of leading as well as helping some students on a one-on-one basis. Read more

Writing, Science, and Mathematics with Curiosity and Humor

My paradigm as a teacher will always be to make myself progressively unnecessary. I currently work as a professional writer and tutor. I've lived all over the United States, although I grew up in Scotland of all places. My scores on the SAT and ACT were perfect (1600 and 36 respectively), but I too had to work hard to get there, so I know what it's like when you're just starting out. Over the years, I've studied with students suffering from ADHD, autism, dyslexia, dysgraphia, dyscalculia, ... Read more

Philip is always patient and understanding. He is the best of the best!!
Richard’s tutoring was instrumental in my daughter’s SAT Math score. His flexible approach to tutoring can cater to any student’s need. He is very encouraging and patient.
Michael encourages and supports my son as he is working on his writing for school. My son struggles to finish writing assignments at home without great angst and with minimal quality. Michael has a wonderful approach to helping him push himself to create higher quality work, build confidence, and start to see that he can write. Fantastic experience!
She was a tutor for my two sons for almost two years but she was hardy ever there on time. In the middle of the school year she wanted to stop tutoring. After lot of discussion on my concern on impact to my son on switching teachers in the middle of school year, she agreed to start. At the end o school year, I asked her if she would like to continue next school year she said yes. And continued to tutor my kids through summer (probably because they were working longer hours with her). And now when the school year is starting she said she will stop tutoring because it is not profitable for her. If she had told at the beginning of summer break I could have found another tutor and my sons would have been used to working with the new teacher. In short I feel cheated. I have also conveyed this feedback in email. A note on tutoring - I started tutoring with her because I wanted improvement in my sons vocab but that has not really changed based on Terra Nova scores.
