I'd really like to highly recommend Phoebe as a math tutor. I was extremely worried about taking the Cbest(High School level) maths exam in order to be credentialed as a teacher here. My record as a math student is very bad. Phoebe persuaded me that I could succeed in math (which she loves herself) and that with steady work and regular sessions with her I would succeed and I did! On the day of the exam her training and hard work kicked in and I managed to pass my Cbest math exam first time and with excellent results! She is extremely positive, very patient and a talented mathematician so if you don't understand the math one way she can show you numerous other approaches to help you get to grips with the concepts. In fact Phoebe never gives up on you which gives you a great sense of security. And finally she is great fun to work with too. I never thought I'd find math enjoyable but with Phoebe I did. I am so pleased I chose her as my tutor.
I would love to continue my lessons once again and when I do I will see Reed. She is very knowledgeable about the language and how to communicate once in that Country.
He was knowledgeable about the subject matter that my daughter was/is struggling with. He taught her in a way that she actually got it & felt comfortable enough to do well on her exams & re-test on previous exams. I highly recommend him. Thanks Greg for helping & for your love of math.
Fatima, or Shanaz, as she was called, is a fantastic tutor. My son is a junior in high school, and although he is a straight A student, he just didn't seem to be able to do well on the SAT. He first took the SAT with no prep, did horrible on it. Then, he started working with Fatima, and she was so patient with him. She has a very engaging manner and he responded to her immediately. She was always punctual for all the sessions, always sent him an email the next day with a summary of what they had worked on in the previous session and also what homework he should try to accomplish before the next lesson. She is extremely professional and responsible. After working with her, he re-took the SAT and his score went up 190 points. Then, he kept working with her and took the ACT, and this time his ACT score went up even higher! At that point he decided he had done well enough on the ACT to not have to retake it again. Which was his goal all along! All I can say, is, if you or your child needs tutoring for any subject, please contact Fatima...She is the best!
