Making math easy for students and adults!

Making content easy is my passion. The difference between those who understand and those who don't is normally motivation and their learning style. Based on learning style, I am very motivated to interpret material in a way that's easiest for you to digest it. Think carrot puree (instead of the whole/raw carrot) for babies, ground steak instead of fillet. Same content, same nutritional value, just broken down for easier consumption. The goal is for you to understand and be able to use mathema... Read more

During my time in college I focused my courses on mineralogy, petrology, structural geology, and field geology. Prerequisites for these courses include challenging math and science topics such as chemistry, physics, and calculus I-III. Many of these classes would have been impossible without the tutors, TAs, and professors that helped me along the way. My... Read more

Career Engineer with Focus on Geometry Trigonometry Matlab

Hi, I'm Jim. I've enjoyed a long career in the aerospace business with companies like Boeing, Honeywell, Motorola, Northrop Grumman, and Sikorsky. Most of those jobs required detailed geometry, trigonometry, Excel and Matlab skills. I am entertained by focusing my time using those skills, and sharing them with others. My tutoring method attempts to engage the student in more than just solving the current problem by rote; it is important to me that the student understands the... Read more

I like putting fun and relevance into learning math.

I have a degree in Education from U Maine-Machias. I have taught high school and/or middle level math for fifty years. During that time I have worked with many different learning styles with a great deal of success. I have also spent many summers working with high school math departments throughout the country. I worked with these teachers to help them develop their math curriculum while using best teaching practices. I am highly qualified. I have tutored math students off and on for the past forty years. I prefer to work with these students on a one to one basis. I spend the first session determining their learning style and then needs. From this point we will progress at their rate until they a comfortable with the topic. I believe a lot of this success is determined by the relationship that is forged between the student and teacher. I look forward to helping your young mathematician develop a respect and understanding of math-which is not a dirty four letter word. Thanks for the opportunity. Read more
