College Grad Offering Personally Tailored Individual Instruction
I'm Sam! I graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in Music with an emphasis in Vocal Performance. Shortly after pursuing a graduate degree in Vocal Performance, I decided that I no longer wanted to be an Opera Singer. Over the next several years I tried out different careers (being a poker dealer was my favorite because it involved a lot of math). In time I grew to realize that no matter what I did, I always found myself teaching. My favorite part of any job became when I had an opportunity to tu... Read more

An hour with a tennis or batting coach is bound to help your ability in tennis or baseball. The same is true with an academic skill. Immediate feedback and support is desirable and necessary when someone is developing their ability with words. Writing is difficult, but there are ways one can learn t... Read more

Asperger's has become a much more widely-recognized condition during the time that I have been teaching. In response to this increase, Fairfax County developed a 12-hour in-service course for teachers on the subject. The course included lectures from veteran teachers, readings on Asperger's, discussions with parents of children with Asperger's, and presentations from adults with Asperger's. Even 10 years later, I continue to refer to materials and notes from this class. I believe that I have had students with Asperger's Syndrome in my classes every year for at least the past 9 years and ha Read more
