I contacted Joy after reading many of the positive reviews on WyzAnt. I was looking for a tutor to work with my daughter specifically on ACT math prep. Joy did a great job pulling specific areas of the test that she needed practice on. She also gave her tips and tricks to help with the math portion. She listened to our needs, evaluated my daughter's strengths and weaknesses and came up with a plan tailored to her needs. My daughter came home after taking the test and said several of the questions were easy to her because of what she had gone over in tutoring and she felt the tutoring had helped. In pursuit of my business degree, I was forced to take Calculus from UAH. Math has always been my weakest subject. It had been five years since I had taken Algebra, and on my own, I have no doubt that I would have struggled to pass the class. While the teacher was flying through calculus lessons, I didn't even understand the basics from prior math courses, which your teacher will likely assume you already know. Joy, my tutor was a blessing. She taught me all of the remedial material from prior classes in a way that was easy to understand, and she got me up to speed on all of the material we were going over in class. She also prepared me for what I would see in coming classes as well. I can't thank her enough for her help. Joy is incredibly gifted at solving complex mathematical problems and breaking them down in a way that is easily understood. She is worth every penny and then some. Not to mention I made an A in the class, which is absolutely incredible considering that UAH is not an easy school, and I couldn't even plot a graph in our first lesson! Joyce is a true educator. So, I called Joy up and she assessed where I was at in my knowledge of Calculus pretty well, and she did an excellent job of filing in the gaps of my knowledge.
