I am a retired federal employee of Redstone Arsenal. For the past 10+ years I have worked as a substitute teacher in Madison City, Madison County and Huntsville City Schools. I primarily worked in grades K-6 but have done middle and high school. I have to say my favorite grades have been 2nd, 3rd and 4th although I have done all the others. I have worked with autistic children through inclusion in a classroom setting as well as in on-on-one situations as a substitute teacher. I have learned to recognize certain behaviors that may be unique to each student and to hopefully be able to adjust my teaching techniques to meet their specific needs. My wife has a masters in special education and has provided invaluable advice to help me work with these children.
