Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)
ADD/ADHD
I have worked with students that have ADD/ADHD for 20 years. I know they have shorter attention spans and need more breaks. They also have to be given fewer tasks to accomplish before moving on to the next one. I tailor my approach to fit each students needs.
Aspergers
I worked in the school system in a one on one situation with two different students with Aspergers. The first was a child in kindergarten for three years and the second was began in fifth grade and continue for three years until the family moved out of state. I know the special needs of these children and enjoyed the challenge.
autism
I have four years in an autism unit in middle school. I worked one on one and inclusion. I am aware of teaching strategies and limitations of each student. I am willing to change approach to meet the students needs.
