I am an experienced retired teacher having taught all levels from kindergarten through college. I hold the following degrees: Master of Music degree from Yale University and Doctor of Musical Arts from the University of Arizona in Performance. I studied many Spanish classes also including two summers in Guadalajara, Mexico. I attended master classes with Zara Nelsova and Lorne Monroe, former principal cellist of the New York Philharmonic. At this time, I have taken about 7 lessons from Charlotte. I find that I have been progressing rather rapidly. We practice finger positions, hand techniques, sheet music notes, note reading, and bow techniques. I find that I can remember and play pieces that before would have been intimidated to play due to difficulty of the pieces. I like working with Charlotte to understand the history of the violin, and would totally recommend her to anyone wanting to play violin for the first time, or want a refresher course!
