I have graduated from UCSB and Harvard Law School, and I have successfully applied to graduate school programs in English Literature. I currently volunteer with the Office of Admissions of an elite university, mainly interviewing applicants, for the past 10 years, and I have represented UCSB at HS college fairs. I have helped numerous students, as a favor, with their college, medical school, and law school application essays, interviews, and general application management. All those whom I have helped recommend my services as high quality and invaluable.

My daughter told me that 1 1/2 hours of tutoring with you is too short. She really enjoys the way you teach her, and she can't stop talking about how much she learned from you and how great you are. She actually said that she may want to change her major to English because she finds English to be very interesting now!

I believe Cindy is a great teacher. Following are what I have noticed about her. First of all, I can tell that she does very intensive research into the subject that she teaches. This allows her to be extremely thorough. Secondly, she is a talented teacher in that she gets to know students' abilities, their strengths, weaknesses very easily. This allows her to formulate her teaching plan in a manner that most needs of the students. Lastly, she is able to teach in an encouraging way so much so that my children actually look forward to the tutoring sections.

My son was struggling with his essay. Even though he knows something wrong, he doesn't know how to correct it. After the first class, he saw the light, and my son really enjoyed the lesson. Thank you!

As a homeschooling parent, I am so happy to have Cindy as a writing tutor! Writing is so hard to teach properly, but Cindy is very knowledgeable about the best methods, sequence, etc. She is also engaging with my child and obviously really cares about her as a writer and also as a person. She is sensitive to learning differences, and follows a developmentally appropriate approach to writing, building solid foundational skills and confidence. She is very perceptive and adapts the lessons to the particular strengths and weaknesses of each student. I have seen progress with my child's abilities and also with her attitude toward herself as a writer. Highly recommended!
