Gabrielle has been doing a great job with out grandson. He has had 10 sessions with her, mostly at 2 days per week but we just added a third day, and we already see positive results. He is more confident, more vocal and is progressing nicely. We should have gotten him this help long ago. We are excited to see what improvement the next couple of months bring about. My 15 year old son has been tutoring with Gabrielle for almost a year (since November 2014.) My son has always been a below-average student and has gone through a few different tutors including a popular commercial tutoring service. My son has improved dramatically over the last year, improving his GPA from a 1.8 to 2.3 at the end of the last academic year (2014-2015.) He’s on track to finish this first semester of the 2015-2016 academic year with a 2.8-3.0 GPA. His teachers and coaches are impressed by his increased academic skills and GPA. We believe Gabrielle’s one on one sessions that include research-based programs and series of steps have addressed my son's core academic issues and made him a more confident and independent learner. Gabrielle has been able to address his listening and reading comprehension, vocabulary-building, and writing skills which has helped him with homework, writing and visual-aid projects, quizzes/tests, and overall communication and thought process. I think the most important thing has been that Gabrielle shows patience and understanding. She allows him to think and express his thoughts whether right or wrong and gives him detailed explanation for the wrong answer or explains a possible better answer or solution. She has been able to help him visualize a scenario and the possible outcome(s). She is prepared for each session and doesn’t rush through the lessons. She makes sure he gets it and waits for him to be ready to move on to the next lesson or level. These qualities were evident in our communication before I selected her to tutor my son. The only one of a several tutors contacted that showed enthusiasm and passion for what she does with detailed summary of what she could possibly do for my son.
