ADD/ADHD

I have a lot of experience teaching ADD/ADHD students. Several of my family members have ADD/ADHD and I am very familiar with the needs of these types of students. I have been a tutor for over ten years and have helped many students who struggle with ADD/ADHD issues. I use a specialized program that helps these students to focus and I use several different techniques that help those with ADD/ADHD.

I have been a professional tutor for ten years and have been working with children on the autism spectrum for 7 years. In the last two years, I have begun to work with these children in regards to their academic skills. I use two highly successful programs to help these students with oral language (expressive and receptive vocabulary), listening comprehension and reading comprehension. As a result of these programs, the students have also improved their writing and grammar skills.

Gabrielle is the best English teacher I have ever met. She teaches me ESL that helps me pronounce English accurately. She also uses some techniques to help me learn vocabulary in very efficient ways. She is very knowledgeable and answers all my questions. After taking some lessons, I am much more confident speaking English and reading books faster. I enjoy learning English with her.

We found that Gabriella is a great tutor. After just a few tutoring sessions, she identified the problem, then she used her special methods to improve my son's reading skill. She was very patient, kind, and understanding. My husband and I noticed an improvement after only 2 weeks of tutoring with her. We recommend her highly without any reservations.

Gabrielle has made a world of a difference in my son's reading comprehension ability. I have been working with my son through many study books over the years every summer and even tried Sylvan. I was getting frustrated with the lack of progress. I am so thankful to have found Gabrielle! Only through her, I found that he was not visualizing what he was reading and was, therefore, not able to fully comprehend the reading material. My only regret is that I wish I had known Gabrielle many years prior. My son has now worked with her for about 4 months and the progress he is making is is a lot more than what he had made over the years. Thank you Gabrielle!

Gabrielle is an extremely patient tutor when working with kids who have problems focusing. The program that she teaches with is geared towards kids who have difficulties visualizing what they are saying or writing and it truly demonstrates to kids how to approach comprehension problems. She also provides additional resources to help kids focus and is extremely knowledgeable in working with this population group. Her programs are also flexible in that they allow for online tutoring, which is extremely convenient. Overall, a great tutor!

Gabrielle is a great tutor, patient and calm. She is helping my 2nd grader with language and arts. After a couple months of working with my child, my son is improving very much. We are happy with the results. I cannot recommend Gabrielle as a tutor highly enough.

As a parent, you always want the best for your child. I believe I've found the best tutor for my child. Gabrielle is a very competent and professional tutor. She took the time to evaluate the needs of my child and implemented the best plan for his success. I've seen great progress so far and I am excited about what the future holds for him. She is very patient and works well with him. She shows concern and wants the best for him. Thank you Gabrielle.

Gabrielle has been doing a great job with out grandson. He has had 10 sessions with her, mostly at 2 days per week but we just added a third day, and we already see positive results. He is more confident, more vocal and is progressing nicely. We should have gotten him this help long ago. We are excited to see what improvement the next couple of months bring about. We are about 45 sessions into working with Gabrielle and our grandson is greatly improved in many ways. In addition to the anticipated improvements in his reading comprehension and written expression he has shown a very pleasing increase in his confidence, verbal interaction with others and an overall obvious cheerfulness. Gabrielle is doing a great job with him. Our grandson does not resist going to his sessions but in fact looks forward to them - 4 days per week - because he knows that it is helping him and also because he likes and just as importantly trusts Gabrielle. Thank you Gabrielle.

Gabrielle is very knowledgeable regarding the special needs of my grandson. She is willing to share her knowledge and techniques to help us better understand what the child is going through. She's very patient with the student and always encouraging.

Gabrielle goes beyond just helping kids with homework. She actually, from experience, utilizes true tested learning programs that work with kids with results. Gabrielle is currently tutoring both my 7-yr-old daughter and my niece. My daughter has had speech issues, and problems with vocabulary, and reading comprehension. Gabrielle utilizes a program that has assisted my daughter in actually "visualizing" what she is reading. My daughter's speech abilities and vocabulary has improved exponentially. The changes with my daughter were also noted by my family, her teacher, and school principal. If you want a tutor who is well experienced, has a special gift for working with special needs children, and can actually find a program suitable to your own child's individual needs, I highly recommend Gabrielle.

Gabrielle has been a God send for my Grandson, prior to her tutoring, David was struggling with just about every subject in his age range.Gabrielle has singlehandedly given him a self confidence that has made him believe he CAN learn to spell, read and much more. David is so thrilled when he now gets a 100 percent on a spelling test and feels much more comfortable in class. Thank Goodness WyzAnt appeared when I did a google search for help.

We feel fortunate to have found Gabrielle to help our son who was struggling in second grade due to dyslexia and difficulty focusing. Gabrielle has the right combination of knowledge, caring and patience to work with children like our son. She has been a great resource for our family as we are beginning to understand the learning challenges our son faces. She continually educates herself on the best ways to work with children with learning disabilities, is reliable and committed to her student’s success. We highly recommend her.

Besides Gabrielle being on time and ready to go each day as a professional tutor. Gabrielle is phenomenal with my kids, she's patient, understanding, and very invested in teaching her students. She wants her students to do well just as much as the parents do. What I really like along with all that is mentioned, is the encouragement that she provides, I never heard her tell my children they were wrong when she's correcting them, instead she encourages them to find the better or best solution to a problem. Patience, understanding, and encouragement goes a long way, and Gabrielle is one of a kind. I'm so glad we found her... Thank you, Wyzant.

Makayla J. from Rancho Cucamonga, CA

My 15 year old son has been tutoring with Gabrielle for almost a year (since November 2014.) My son has always been a below-average student and has gone through a few different tutors including a popular commercial tutoring service. My son has improved dramatically over the last year, improving his GPA from a 1.8 to 2.3 at the end of the last academic year (2014-2015.) He’s on track to finish this first semester of the 2015-2016 academic year with a 2.8-3.0 GPA. His teachers and coaches are impressed by his increased academic skills and GPA. We believe Gabrielle’s one on one sessions that include research-based programs and series of steps have addressed my son's core academic issues and made him a more confident and independent learner. Gabrielle has been able to address his listening and reading comprehension, vocabulary-building, and writing skills which has helped him with homework, writing and visual-aid projects, quizzes/tests, and overall communication and thought process. I think the most important thing has been that Gabrielle shows patience and understanding. She allows him to think and express his thoughts whether right or wrong and gives him detailed explanation for the wrong answer or explains a possible better answer or solution. She has been able to help him visualize a scenario and the possible outcome(s). She is prepared for each session and doesn’t rush through the lessons. She makes sure he gets it and waits for him to be ready to move on to the next lesson or level. These qualities were evident in our communication before I selected her to tutor my son. The only one of a several tutors contacted that showed enthusiasm and passion for what she does with detailed summary of what she could possibly do for my son. The primary reason I chose her, and happy that I did. Thank you Gabrielle and Wyzant!

Adriane K. from Redondo Beach, CA

Friendly and helpful tutor. She is helping our 5th grader catch up to grade level in reading. She has a system that she seems to know very well. She did a VERY in-depth assessment before starting him on her program, so we're only a few lessons in, but I feel confident we will get what we need from her help. Highly recommend
