Dave, born in Toronto, Canada, received his music education at the Royal Conservatory of Music. He began putting his poems to music and this led to his migration to California to seek recognition as a songwriter. He played with several music acts in the Bay Area in the 1970s/1980s and composed scores for the theater. Following the muse of poetry and fiction writing, he went to San Francisco State University and earned Creative Writing (English) degrees (B.A. Summa Cum Laude,‘93, M.A. 1995). ...

Dave tutors my 12 year old son in English and Literature. Surprisingly with an added bonus, Dave also is very knowledgeable in History, Religion, and Piano! He is patient, kind, intelligent, and very thorough. After every lesson, Dave has written me very detailed account of how the lesson went, as well as suggestions on how my son can improve. My son likes to be challenged and has a tendency to get bored and disinterested if a tutor is too lenient or too easy to please.
