Becky has been a blessing to our family. She is a dedicated, highly intelligent and caring soul that truly is a master at the art of teaching. Becky’s help and our son’s dedication allowed him to earn entrance into UCSB. I am not sure that he would have made it without her. We first met Becky three years ago when she helped our son with his high school geometry class. Soon after we met Becky, we learned that she had a wealth of knowledge and is expert in many subjects. We then recruited her to help our son with many of his subjects. Without exception, soon after Becky started helping with a subject, the grades in that course improved. In time, our son was able to incorporate Becky’s study methods and apply them independently. Becky was a victim of her own success – our son no longer needed her. Becky could not have been happier for our son. Sure enough, our daughter had trouble with geometry. Once again, we called Becky and the results repeated themselves. My daughter currently has an A in the course and will very likely conclude the year with an A. Becky - Thank you. We are so much better for having met you. I am sure we will see you next year.

My son has been struggling with learning to read. This was a very difficult thing for my wife and I as we just expected when the time came for our son to read that he would. So when we started to realize that he was not able to learn at the same pace as others this was a huge shock to us. With the help of teachers at his school we realized that our son has a form of dyslexia called auditory dyslexia. (Inability to distinguish between similar sounds) We found Miss Becky on wyzants and seemed to connect with her almost immediately. Our son is very creative and Miss Becky who is herself an artist was able to reach him in ways that grabbed his attention in a firm but loving way. It was not long before Miss Becky became "Our Miss Becky". For our situation there is no "quick fix" but we have learned some great ways to help our son and we are making good progress as we all learn to deal with this challenge.If your child is struggling with reading I highly recommend Miss Becky!!

As a new comer to America, I wanted to have some tutor to guide me English pronunciation, listening and speaking. Rebecca pinpointed my wrong pronunciation, which I believe I could never find out myself. It was surprising that some pronunciation I had no doubt I'm good at was actually wrong. Now I'm pretty more confident about my pronunciation, though I need more time to get used to it. Also it was fun to exercise "listen and repeat". At first, she read 4~5 words from a book and I was to repeat them. It was more challenging that I had thought. I usually forgot "a" or "the" and was confused with tenses. It revealed that I was lack of some grammar knowledge which I studied long ago but almost forgot. So it gave me direction to improve my English. Now she increased the words to a whole sentence and I can repeat it (not always perfect, but I see improvement very clearly). These things may not sound so great for the natives, but for people whose mother tongue is not English, it should be very promising. And Rebecca is open to my suggestion and opinion about the tutoring and very keen to change tutoring method to my request. I think that anybody who wants to improve English should try her tutoring.
