Licensed Educator with Masters of Arts in Teaching for Secondary Education with English Language Arts certification. Main areas of expertise: - Writing Composition (Creative, Expository, Prose, and Research Based) - Reading Instruction (Precise reading tools for comprehension) After working as a high school substitute teacher and athletic coach I followed my strengths for working with adolescents and became a certified educator. I worked the last three years as an English teacher in a therapeutic high school for students with social/emotional disabilities, most notably anxiety and depression. This experience taught me how to diversify my teaching style to meet all students needs, and take into account each student as an individual to best help them access the curriculum. I believe all students are capable of learning and achieving success, My approach to writing instruction builds a foundation of fundamentals of writing while helping each student develop and discover their own writing style, allowing for not only strong writing skills but also an appreciation of the writing process.
