Currently working as a Pre-Calculus and Calculus teacher with valid credentials, I have over 5 years of classroom experience and 10 years of tutoring experience and specialize in middle school and high school math. I am extremely passionate about Math education and I want all students to see why Math can be more than just memorizing and regurgitating. I am quick to make my students throw away their "I am bad at math" mindset. There is no such thing! With the right guidance and students' effort, I believe that all students can excel and advance in Math. And because of this philosophy, my students have consistently outperformed district averages by 25%. This subsequently led to being awarded the Teacher of the Year Award. I earned my Bachelor’s in Business and Accounting from University of Southern California in 2010. With my background in business, I worked at Merrill Lynch and Target, respectively, before joining Teach for America (TFA). Joining TFA provided me with an invaluable privilege of transforming the minds of young students, a powerful experience that forever changed the lens through which I view the world. In the process of teaching various math courses, I fell in love with the complexity, rigor, and application of mathematics. The love for math has led me to pursue a Master’s Degree in Math Education with Johns Hopkins.
