Judith

Experienced elementary and special needs teacher

I love to teach, that's the bottom line. Last year because of the economy I was laid off after teaching for 13 years. I received my Bachelor of Arts in Child Development for California State University at Northridge. I expected to find job in a therapeutic situation and continue my education. To make money in the mean time I took a job as a substitute teacher. My first day in the classroom was awesome; I called my husband and told him that I couldn't believe that I got paid for this...

autism

I have my bachelor's in Early Childhood Development from CSUN. Now I am enrolled in a master's program in Early Education. Both of these programs include a component on the non-typical child. I develop and taught an early reading program for parents with preschoolers with down syndrome. Through the years of teaching I have had many students whose learning style had to be addressed through the adaptation of the curriculum. I am very comfortable working with kids with autism and have had the privilege of doing it frequently through the years.
