My tutoring specialty began many years ago when I was in High School tutoring the local elementary students. My success helping students then is what led me to teaching as a career. I have a CA Clear Education Specialist Credential authorizing me to work with students who have any learning disability. I have had identified students in my general education classroom and was able to modify the lesson for them, which closed the learning gap. Also, I believe that all students can learn and grow. I do not ask, "How smart is this student?" but "How is this student smart?"

My 11th grade son was near failing chemistry when we found Therese to tutor him. She immediately got him organized on his study skills but also showed him that he was able to grasp the content which raised his confidence across all classes. Therese is so familiar with these courses that she knew what they would be studying in the future so she was able to prepare him for what was to come. Her patience and flexibility was a great plus for our very busy (and sometimes disorganized) family. She was able to bring his grade up to a B from a D- before the semester ended. I only wish we had secured her earlier in the school year.
