Wen is my tutor for my college Algebra class. She is an excellent tutor because she really knows her material and is very good at explaining every step. It is obvious math is second nature to her as she can easily recall all the necessary formulas and explain it in a simple way. Until just recently, my son Timothy was receiving an F grade for his Geometry 8th grade class. I spoke to his teacher and she recommended a tutor. I was searching for tutors for more than a month and came across Ms. Wen Li. After reading the review from the parents, I decided to hire Ms. Wen Li as my son’s math tutor. Prior to his first session, Ms. Wen Li met and discussed the plan with me. She asked about the text book and asked me to inform her of his prior homework and test grades. I sent her website where his teacher posts the daily homework, quiz and test. At the first session, Ms. Wen Li was prepared with the materials, she identified my son’s weaknesses by reviewing the past homework and tests. At the session following, she explained to my son the steps to understand and solve his math problems. Just in one and a half months my son’s second semester grade went from an F to a B+ and we owe it to the patience and teaching method of Ms. Wen Li. She is thorough, patient and breaks down math problems so my son can understand.

I selected Wen very late in the school year with only about 2 months remaining. I have to admit, I along with my daughter were very nervous because she had a low "F" in Geometry. I wasn't expecting miracles, but I was expecting Wen to help my daughter pull her grade up from a low "F". Wen jumped right in with a very direct approach (accepting no excuses) and took my daughter back to the basics ensuring that there was a clear understanding of the formulas. Obviously, if you don't know the formulas, you cannot solve the problems. My daughter started understanding the formulas and it showed in her classwork (A's), quizzes (A/B's) and tests (B's). I am happy to say that my daughter ended the school year with an "A" on her final test and with a the final grade was very close to a C+ !! Thank you Wen, we're very grateful because she couldn't have made that progress in such a short amount of time without you!!

Wen has been tutoring my sons for about two months. She is pleasant and very patient. The boys are very comfortable with her and they are learning quite fast. They also say that she is fun. I am sure this tutor is a good tutor for a lower math or certain people, however she was not a good fit for me. I had her tutor me in pre-calculus to help me prepare for a test, and i didn't learn anything out of the 90 minute lesson. I received a 35% on the test i took the following day. She is a very hands on, however she was more interested in checking my work then helping me understand any of the material at hand. She had to refer to her notes and my text book to figure out how to do the problems, which I felt I could have done on my own. I hope this review is helpful! -11th grade pre-calc student
