Christoph

Web and Media Designer with Ph.D.

I offer a background of teaching one-on-one and large groups of students as a teaching assistant for various universities: University of California, Santa Cruz, Otis College of Art & Design, and Goldsmiths, the University of London over the last half-decade. I have an artistic inclination but am more cerebral; I am formally trained in essay writing, editing, using digital media, manual and digital photography. I build web pages and can help with HTML, PHP, and design/structural issues. I can ...

computer programming

I have taken several courses in programming unlimited to C++, Processing, Max/MSP/Jitter, PHP and Java. Prior to getting my PhD in Arts and Computational Technology, I worked on a few programs that implemented Max/MSP/Jitter. I have taught students several of these programs and how to make interactive interfaces.

Adobe InDesign

Ever since I embarked on an MFA in writing, I learned a lot more about InDesign through duplicating page structures, layouts, and text/image spacing of futurist poetry. I worked on layouts for my school newspaper as an undergraduate and am currently using InDesign to structure my PhD dissertation for publication. I have tremendous amount of experience in helping others develop their own pages for courses I was a teaching assistant in as well as helping professors with their own books/scholarly articles through InDesign.

C++

The first programming language I ever learned was in C++. I am skilled at teaching people how to make C++ programs because it is a fun, object-driven language. I taught large groups of students how to use C++ for projects they were building before the completion of my Ph.D. in Arts and Computational Technology.
