Are you interested in learning from a native speaker of German and Italian, who is fluent or proficient in 6 different European languages? Interested in giving yourself or your kids some cultured perspective of our broader world? Planning a trip to Europe, for business or with the family, and want the advantage of confident communication skills in the local language? I offer private tutoring sessions, or lessons for the whole family or little groups, with up to date study materials. My teaching method is dynamic, focused on communication and goal-oriented. I provide good foundations of grammar and lay emphasis on presenting the cultural background and history of the language in question. All lessons are individually tailored to meet your wishes and needs. I have several years of experience teaching German, Italian, French, and Brazilian Portuguese, and university level Latin and Ancient Greek for philosophy undergraduates. I am personable, professional, and highly organized. I teach all levels from beginners to advanced (A1 - C1) for adults, children or teens. My rate is $45 per hr at my location, $55 per hr at your location (2 hrs. minimum at your location). Two or more people together $35 / $45 per person. If you book a series of min. 8 lessons the rate is discounted $5 per hr. My hour is usually 75 min., allowing the time for checking homework and smoothly wrapping up the lesson. I am also available as a personal assistant and/or translator (German, Italian). I also provide transcription and proof-reading of documents from and to German and Italian (rates upon request).
