My subject qualifications include: Algebra I, Elementary Math, Pre-Algebra and ACT Math. As a tutor in Redondo Union High School's Independent Study Program, I worked with a number of students who were struggling with math. Sometimes they had challenges in basic math skills that prevented them from understanding more complex problems in Algebra. Sometimes they simply had done poorly in a class and had decided that they were "bad" at math. Whatever the issue, I feel a little patience, repetition and creativity in tackling math problems often leads to success. There's nothing more exciting for a teacher than seeing a student succeed at something that he or she thought was impossible!
