special needs
Special need is learning disabilities such as ADD or ADHD. It is important to do a assessment of the essential functioning of the individual, basic comprehension and hand eye coordination, the ability to pay attention enough to concentrate on the subject, etc. Speech impairment is a special need requiring the tutor/instructor to re-teach or teach for the first time how to form words, how to talk basically. Dyslexia can be diagnosed by having the individual read a paragraph from a book. I hold a Masters Degree in Counseling and have hundreds of hours of experience counseling individuals with and without special needs. This type of work is rewarding to me. I take the time and patience to make sure every step is done with care and make sure the subject is capable of receiving it before moving on. Special needs students need a lot of love and encouragement. This is one of my specialties.
