Calculus is the study of limits, functions, derivatives, integrals, and infinite series. The main branches of calculus are differential calculus and integral calculus. Integral calculus finds a quantity when the rate of change is known. Differential calculus determines the rate of change of a quantity. I tutored all of the above concepts and their applications to college students.

Violet was very knowledgeable in Chemistry and was able to help my son better understand the concepts so he could apply them to various test questions. I also like that she is very good with math because there are Algebra concepts that overlap with Chemistry.

Yes, Violet is a superbly qualified tutor. My high-school son has been fortunate to excel in Algebra and now Geometry under her very competent guidance. Violet is professional in every way. She is remarkably patient and thorough. She has a gift to get through to her students, especially teenagers! My son has learned to be less careless, more focused and has a renewed interest in pursuing mathematics. There are not enough thank-yous to be said to one of the most endearing women to cross my path - Violet C.

I feel that she is a approachable person. She knows the subject that she is tutoring me and I am able to learn things from her. She is also helping me refresh me on topics that I have learned long ago just have forgotten the basics of them. She shows me each step when I ask how she got to that answer. Also, keeping me refreshed by using handouts for me to practice on and then willing to go over in our next meeting.

After experiencing some bad luck with tutors at the college, I felt finding a private tutor would be the way to go. Violet gave me some shortcuts and ways of handling word problems, slopes, and intercepts. Because of formulas I am not familiar with, it will take practice to get the hang of it. Violet went at my speed and explained everything clearly. I'm glad that we connected.
Leanne R. from Alamo, CA
Violet has helped our son with geometry and biology. In 2 lessons, we can already see the difference her guidance has made in both his understanding and his desire to improve. We would recommend her without reservation.
Amy P. from Castro Valley, CA
Kid seems to like her. She said she understands better. But I have to wait to see her grade first to be able to say more about her.
Jill L. from Pleasanton, CA
My son is in high school and needed help with math, she made a great first impression. Her style is to help educate and understand the whole concept of subject matter. Very impressed.
