Thank you so much Debbie. I was extremely stressed out at our 1st meeting regarding my child's grades. Today, I'm relaxed hopeful, and excited for the future. In just four lessons, my 6th grader has gained confidence reading aloud. He's reading aloud to me as I'm writing this note. Never before!!! Unbelievable!!!!! Today, he scored 100% in his Social Studies test. His teacher sent a note home on Tuesday about his poor performance in Social Studies. Today is Thursday. My son is excited about the new study skills he's learning such as organizing, looking ahead, and all the fun ways to remember the material in the various subjects. Debbie is prompt, professional, patient, and caring. She is obviously knowledgeable in academics and teaching children how to read and study. She listens to my concerns and is extremely caring. Mrs. Debbie M is an absolutely brilliant tutor. Having grown up with a true love for reading, I was met with a sense of failure when I couldn't pass this love for reading on to my son. (He loved to be read to, but he was lacking both the confidence and the interest to learn how to read on his own.) I cannot begin to fully, appropriately express just how grateful I am to have found Debbie, and how fantastic her approach has been in aiding my son on his journey to literacy. Our family's schedule only permits us a tutoring session with Debbie once a week (as opposed to the recommended bi-weekly sessions), and yet my son's ability to read has begun to blossom rather quickly as soon as he began to see her. She immediately became attuned to his charming (yet disinterested-in-reading ) personality and specific needs as a student, and has approached him with laser-sharp focus, spot-on in finding the right methods to keep him not only interested and engaged but actually learning and progressing speedily. (His teachers noticed a great improvement within the first two weeks.) The fun yet highly effective plans she designs and "master-minds" to engage my son are ingenious; she finds great opportunities to effortlessly tie in educational experiences with games, thus making the whole learning experience challenging but fun. She runs her sessions very methodically, very organized, with a specific goal for my son to have met by the end of each session. I very much appreciate the notes she hands out at the end of each session to keep me fully aware of his latest progress and goals for the next week, as well as the detailed emails I receive from her as a follow-up. I find my son’s progress under Mrs. Debbie M’s tutelage to be not only a testament to her scholarly expertise as a professional teacher, but also a reflection of her innate passion – which encompasses a strong combination of her love for children with her love for teaching. All in all, Mrs. Debbie M attains the perfect combination of all the necessary qualities that make for the best tutor a parent could ask for.

We have been working with Ms. Debbie for about 3 weeks now. Her techniques never cease to amaze me. Yesterday we worked on writing skills. My son needed to write sentences for his spelling words. He was still practicing spelling the words when we went to tutoring last night. Ms. Debbie provided a tip on how to spell "tion" suffixes. By the time we got home which was within 5 minutes, my son totally got the words he was struggling with correct. Went to volunteer at his school today, and he got a 100% on his test. What I liked about this particular session, was that Ms. Debbie challenged my son to think about what he wanted to write, instead of just writing a basic sentence. I am looking forward to my son becoming a more proficient writer.
