Music theory serves as the heart and soul of understanding a composition. It allows us to comprehend the message that the composer was trying to convey, and is the determining factor for a solid interpretation. A true knowledge of theory and understanding what is going on in a piece of music is what makes a performance outstanding. I have had four years of music theory as a part of my music degree and have tutored this subject for the past 3 years.

Biology has never been a strong subject for my daughter. Ramin worked with her last year and we are continuing with him this year for AP biology. We also discovered that he’s a devoted pianist and has been giving her piano lessons as well. Ramin is very patient and is able to explain the material in many different ways. I’m always impressed with his examples! He is very passionate about the subject and does a fabulous job of explaining everything in simple terms while connecting everything to the bigger picture. What I really like about his approach is that, he periodically goes back and reviews the material that he just covered to ensure that my daughter really understands and remembers everything, instead of just lecturing her the whole time.
