Hi prospective students, my name is Ricky, and I have over ten years of experience as a professional tutor. I am passionate about tutoring because it helped me achieve academic success in my own life. I struggled with certain subjects when I was a child, but ended up being valedictorian when I graduated from Woodside High School in the Class of 2005, received top scores (5) on my AP exams, and was admitted to 10 universities across the country. I pride myself on my easygoing and effective t...

Richard is an extraordinary tutor. By the end of the first Spanish tutoring session, he somehow infused my son with the confidence that he could really exceed at learning a language, where before he was extremely frustrated with himself. Richard was calm and reassuring, encouraging my son at appropriate points along the way. He's authentic, sincere and not at all pedantic. He's helped my son break down how to learn the Spanish tenses and understand conjugation, as well as how to organize his notes and maintain good study habits. When they don't have an assignment to complete, Richard reviews grammar and other foundational parts of learning the Spanish language. I'm very grateful we found Ricky and most importantly that he's helped my son find his confidence with Spanish!

My son has very positive and productive sessions with Richard and he has been very helpful in identifying the key issues to focus on. Richard has shown to be flexible based on my son's needs for that week placed his focus where it would help the most. I would highly recommend Richard as a Spanish tutor!!

Thank you so much for your time last night. It was a very impressive lesson. I'll keep studying ESL with him.

Ricky is truly an outstanding tutor! He has a tremendous grasp of Spanish and it is truly amazing to see how far I have advanced. From not knowing Spanish at all, after 15 lessons from Ricky, I have the ability to carry on basic conversations. I highly recommend Ricky!

I was very pleased with the services I received from Richard (Ricky). With English as my second language, I struggled with my first year in college level English. Although I learned in class what to do with the outlines of my papers, Ricky broke it down for me and explained it in a way for me to understand. Throughout the semester I noticed the great changes in my work and I have Ricky to thank for that. I started with "C" graded papers filled with markings of corrections and by the end of the semester I was an "A" student. Every time I needed help Ricky was there and was very quick in response. If anyone is struggling with English, whether it has to do with outlines of papers, spelling, context of words, this is the tutor for you!

Richard covered alphabet; some simple example words; kids were very engaged whole hour, asked a lot of questions; Richard "steered" the lesson nicely. We are very impressed!

Ricky is The best tutor we've ever had! He helped my daughter demystify preterite verbs for her Spanish final in just one session.

In January I hired Ricky to work with my son on his Spanish grammar and vocabulary. My son had transferred from a public school to a private school where Spanish had been taught since Kindergarten! The children in my son's classroom had 6 years of Spanish! My poor child had NO idea what was going on. It was a disaster! Ricky is an incredibly patient and kind tutor. He took the time to get to know my son and work with him to understand what was happening in the classroom but also help him get caught up on what he had missed in six years. Not an easy task. My son loved Ricky and looked forward to his weekly visits. His grade improved significantly, his Spanish teacher was thrilled and the end result was my son felt confident and was much more engaged in the classroom because of that. Ricky was an absolute delight. He communicated with me about what they covered in each section, he was punctual and very flexible when required. At one point he worked with my high school age son to prepare for Spanish test. Even that two hours Ricky spent with him helped immensely! I absolutely would recommend Ricky as a tutor!

Ricky is a spectacular tutor - he immediately established a connection with my daughter (who was initially reticent about tutoring)....gave me a thorough synopsis of their session afterward...and was very flexible and understanding about our family's scheduling situation. He is upbeat, positive, very capable, and resonates GREAT with kids. He's also incredibly organized and "together", which I really appreciate as a parent. What a find!

Ricky was amazing. He worked well with my son who has ADHD and was able to keep him engaged for a full hour. My son loved working with him and is actually looking forward to his next session with Ricky.

Ricky is a very responsible tutor. We only had two sessions so far, and my son felt he is learning and making progress. I appreciate very much that Ricky prepares customized home work after each session to reinforce what was taught, and plan ahead what should be taught next time.
