Goal oriented lessons: Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics
I have over ten years experience teaching physical sciences and mathematics in traditional classrooms and private instruction. I am interested in giving some lessons to high school and undergraduate level students in need of assistance. I have taught all levels of high school physics from Conceptual up through AP Physics for 7 years. One of my AP classes even had a 100% pass rate. I am also comfortable teaching classical and some modern physics at the undergraduate level. I have 2 years of experience teaching high school Chemistry and 4 years teaching high school math from Algebra 1 though Calculus. I have worked with dozens of students one to one on these subjects over the years. I am a very patient and generous tutor. I set reasonable and achievable goals with students and work towards greater understanding of concepts and problem solving techniques. My goal is to make you or your student self sufficient by breaking down the barriers to full comprehension. My standard rate is $60/hour but I have flexible rates. Depending upon meeting location and lesson length, I can usually provide a meaningful discount that will provide value for both of us. I can meet students in their own home or at a library, cafe or other place of preference. I can drive reasonable distances and can arrange to meet students in neighboring cities to San Jose. I also have extensive experience in online instruction and can give a lesson through Skype or another online medium. In any case, this rate is much lower than anything you will pay using an agency and there is no middle man to inflate the price.
