She is able to recognize your potential and latent ability very quickly and will provide you with all the tools and guidance you need to succeed from the moment you begin with her. She is a kind and dignified lady and an excellent professional to work with. Just be sure to bring your A-game. Patricia expects you to be on time, do the work she assigns, and rise above your own limitations. She'll push you to make you stronger, but to do this she needs you to communicate clearly with her and also be respectful of her time and effort. But this high level of instruction may not be the best for those who are wishing to learn casually as hobby or as a just a light pastime. Of course, she can still cater to every level... But Patricia is a very special individual and an award-winning teacher. She is capable of not just getting you to play the ivory or bust out a few high notes from your windpipes -- she is the type that can help you become a fully-fledged musician. But at that caliber of music training, it also requires the time, the discipline, the patience, and of course the dedication on your part. This was my experience during the time I had with her, and I would highly recommend serious students wishing to learn classical piano or voice instruction to contact her before the school season is fully underway because she can fill up completely. She comes in very high demand, so don't mess around here because you're learning from one of the best teachers this side of the Pecos River. Or I could say off-Broadway! I was unable to continue with her as I sustained an injury, so piano is on hold for me now. But I wanted to share my experience and thank her for what I learned by writing this review.

Mrs. Patricia is a kind, patient and very skilled teacher. My 10 year-old son and I have learned English with her during this summer. She is well prepared every time by bring reference materials, word cards, test paper and even reward idea for us. We both got improved in English. Patricia teaches piano to my 7 1/2 old son who is quirky and unusual, to say the least, due to being highly-gifted and homeschooled. He can be quite a challenge for teachers, especially when they are not acquainted well, and I also have a hard time finding teachers who can offer us what we're looking for. I was looking for a piano teacher who not only understands music and has good skills, but LIVES music AND art with profound depth and sensitivity. Patricia turned out to be one such person, coming from a lineage of musicians and surrounded with talented family. I have yet to hear her play the piano, but her gentle yet thorough approach to assessing my son's musical background gave me a glimpse of her strong root in music and the instrument. Her impressive paintings on the walls also revealed her artistic side to me. Patricia's abundant teaching experiences in various environments is also a great asset. She seems to be very good with children and able to embrace my son's quirkiness in an intelligent way. Overall, I'm very satisfied with her. I am hopeful and excited for what we can achieve in my son's musical ability.

I enjoy learning English with Patricia M. She motivates me to learn, and is strict enough to correct any mistake I have made during my conversations with her. The first day we met, she began to set up and show me where my strong and weak points were. Once she established that, the actual learning began. She helps pinpoint the formation of the mouth, tongue, and teeth so that each word can come out right. I have learned a lot from her. My son was born in Japan and goes to a Japanese school in South bay. I plan to let him go to a local school in Palos Verdes district.
