I have been playing classical and jazz piano for over 12 years. During this time, I achieved a high standard of excellence in classical piano, passing both practical piano and piano theory levels 5 and 6 out of 8 in examinations administered by the Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music (ABRSM). As a student at the Community School of Music and Art in Mountain View, California, I achieved Merit Scholar status, for which I played both solo and ensemble concerts in a variety of venues. I believe that such training and experience qualifies me to teach piano at a basic-intermediate level.

SAT math

The SAT math section requires a strong understanding of basic geometry and algebra. As a recent high school graduate who excelled in these subjects both in class and on the SAT tests I took, my understanding of these subjects is very strong and I am very well practiced. It's also important to approach the math section strategically, moving along at an effective pace, and skipping questions that would slow you down too much. Besides applying this strategy, I help my students practice the mathematical shortcuts and problem recognition that would speed up their test-taking significantly.

SAT reading

I am an accomplished reader and writer with an intuitive understanding of grammar and a Latin-bolstered vocabulary. I received high marks on the PSAT for reading. I also got a 750 on the SAT reading section. I know that to succeed on the Reading section, it is important to logically analyze the material and come to conclusions.

SAT writing

As a recent SAT test-taker myself, I know that to succeed it is crucial to prepare in three ways for the writing portion. First, it is vital to have a comprehensive grasp of grammatical syntax. Second, a student must understand how to build a logical argument in an essay. Third, the student must have a strong and varied vocabulary. I have received high scores on both PSAT tests in writing and a 750 on my writing SAT portion.
