I've been teaching or tutoring for over twenty years in some form or another. For me the reward from tutoring is when I see that a student has caught onto an idea, when the light bulb goes on. In my career I've not only studied physics, mathematics and statistics, but applied them as well as time management and study skills. I can help a student succeed in all these areas. My career has included a PhD in Nuclear Physics, postdoctoral work in nuclear astrophysics and over twenty years of e...

My daughter is a visual mathematician, in that she sees answers and functions rather than necessarily follows the methods put forward in books. Ken has been doing a great job of helping her connect the two so that she can do well in her Calculus class. He also helps her understand how the mathematics apply to her chosen major of Physics, which is bonus. We find him knowledgeable, friendly and patient - and he can come up with different approaches to the studies on the fly - which works well for my daughter.

Very helpful and patient. He helped me understand certain phrases from my math class and explained why we do certain things in math.

I'm so glad Ken is a physics tutor. My son wants to do physics as a career, but was struggling. Ken made sure my son was understanding the concepts, not just getting his homework done. My son went from below average to above average in just a few sessions. I expect the improvement to continue. Thanks Ken!!

Ken gave me detailed feedback on where my daughter needs remedial work and recommended websites to help with this issue which continues to hamper her progress. Patient, easy-going and able to switch to Plan B when Plan A didn't work out. Appreciated his flexibility.

I have been working on a research project for the past few months. The project was groundbreaking, as no one has examined the subject matter before. I took statistics, math, and science in college around 30 years ago and needed someone to help me re-learn what I had forgotten. Ken assisted me in recall material in the various disciplines and was extremely patient. If I didn’t understand what he was discussing with me, he would explain it in a different way that made sense. One of his strengths was his ability to explain the same thing in different manners, as one size doesn’t always fit all. Not only did Ken assist me with what I needed to know, he offered suggestions on ways to improve my research design. He continually challenged me throughout the project, which not only sharpened my skills, but also kept me from making mistakes that I would have difficulty in defending if challenged. Ken was always prepared and on time to each of our sessions. He would not move forward to a new topic until he felt confident that I understood the subject matter being discussed. Ken was able to answer my questions, and if additional research was required, he would respond to me promptly. Ken is the perfect tutor and I would highly recommend him as his experience, knowledge, and patience are some of his exceptional qualities. If I need additional assistance in the future, Ken is the tutor I will be contacting.
