ADD/ADHD
I took classes through National University and earned a Preliminary Level 1 Resource Specialist Credential. After that I worked as a Special Education Resource Teacher in the CA Public Schools for 7 years working with elementary age students. In this position I worked with many students who were diagnosed with ADD/ADHD, exhibiting behaviors such as not being able to sit still, difficulty listening, impulsivity, not being able to focus, being overactive, not being able to control behavior, or a combination of these. Through small group or individual instruction, I was able to help these students progress in their studies using a variety of approaches that helped them to focus and control the behaviors that were interfering with their learning.
