My first language is Dutch. I grew up in Holland and followed my passion in dance. I graduated from the Amsterdam dance academy and moved to the United States where I taught at Mills college (Oakland) and worked as a resident artist for an arts organization in San Francisco, teaching at public schools for 5 years. Tedje was great. I joined a Dutch Club and have been wanting to learn a little bit of Dutch. She provided a few key phrases that I should know, and sure enough, at our next party I was able to interact with people. Boy were they surprised when I started greeting them in Dutch!
