Caltech Grad for math tutoring: Algebra through Calculus

I am a Caltech graduate with a degree in Mathematics and 25 years experience as an Aerospace Engineer. I love teaching math and realize that every student has a unique learning style, so I try to tailor my lessons to allow each student to use their strengths to solve a problem in the way that is easiest for them, while also working on their weak points so they will have more tools available to them to solve problems in different ways in the future. One of the great things about Math is that t...

He helped me brush up on my studies and even taught me somethings my teachers should have. I was falling behind in my math skills and he was able to catch me up.

Edward explains things well and helps me to have a more thorough understanding of the Precalculus material. I'm learning more from him then from my actual teacher.

Edward C. is an excellent calculus tutor. He quickly identified my shortcomings and explained it to me using simple terms. He's very patient and knowledgeable.

Natalie M. from Valencia, CA

Edward is an awesome tutor. He is always prepared and informed before he comes to my lesson, if I tell him what I want to work on. He is great at explaining the concepts and knows them very well. I always appreciate his help.

Rossana Z. from Valencia, CA

Ed helped to review weak areas and explained strategies for a final exam. He was wonderful, prepared and extremely helpful. You can tell he loves math!

Edward began working with our daughter on Algebra 2/Trig late in the semester. She had done poorly on two major tests, and he worked patiently with to help her understand a lot of material she had trouble with during the semester. With his tutoring, she managed to get a 96% on her math final for the semester. The final was a little too late to help significantly with this semester's grade, but it gives her a solid foundation to start the second semester. We are confident if she continues to work with Edward that her grade will improve significantly next semester.

Before our son was being tutored by Edward our son would struggle to get a B in Honors Algebra II/Trig and did not like math. Now, with Edward's help, our son is getting A's on his exams and actually thinks math is "OK" now. When there is not much homework Edward goes over our son's PSAT test results and is helping him to correct mistakes so that he will be better prepared for the SAT test next year. Our son says that he likes Edward because he goes through all the steps for a question and If he gets the wrong answer Edward will explain what went wrong. After the lesson Edward provides his notes so that our son can look them over if he has questions.
