I am a dedicated professional and I have great passion working with students who have learning disabilities. I believe any individual has capacity to learn and improve academically. I have passion in my field and I enjoy helping students. I have worked as a teacher assistant at Kendall County Special Education for almost four years in the state of Illinois. While I was working for KCSEC, I was assigned to help a high school student who was diagnosed with autism. I was placed with the student in all his regular classes, so I was able to learn the lessons and teach him whenever possible. Every individual student is different. For this individual, I learned that I had to keep a distance in order to talk to him. It was not easy at the beginning, but I was able to establish trust between us. This connection built up over time. Finally, I helped him by re-teaching what he was missing from the lesson when he couldn’t catch up with his class activities on his own. In order to keep him updated, I sat by him in the school library and he was able to practice his skills by working on Algebra and English homework while I was there to make sure he was doing what he needed to do. Also, I have been working in Saddleback School District for almost three years. All the years of services that I provided in public school was dedicated to the students that were diagnosed with autism and other learning difficulties. Therefore, I have great experience working with these kind of students. Beside my teacher assistant job at school distinct, currently, I am a teacher for the YMCA before and after school program. This year is my 8th year working at this field in the state of California where I could provide academic help for the students from the kindergarten through the 7th grade. I feel responsible and reliable in all my interactions with students. Also, I'm very determined to fulfill all my duties as a tutor. My master's degree of education in secondary education gives me more ability to recognize student’s differences and provide knowledge and skill that they need. My goal in this field is to value the students understanding and help them to reach their highest potential.
