I took second-year Mandarin at UC Santa Cruz, and then went to Beijing for a year on their exchange program. I continued study of Chinese language and literature for two years at Liaoning Univeristy. I first applied my Chinese language skills as a lexicographer, then as a translator, and now as an interpreter. I have also been a teacher and tutor of Mandarin.
