He really does a great job trying to adapt to the learning style of the student so that they can better grasp the material. For a class (microelectronics) that I felt as lost as someone trying to interpret hieroglyphics for the first time, I now feel like I can better navigate through the material. He does a great job for helping you understand the big picture of the material without getting too caught up in the details and then effortlessly hones in on the specifics you are struggling with. I absolutely recommend him (although I don't want to and hog him to myself since he already has a lot of students). Well worth the money.

This kept him interested in the class material, and got him thinking about jobs in the engineering field he may want to pursue. I've been working with Jim for about three weeks now, getting help with second semester college chemistry and he's been really helpful. He's great at explaining things to me and approaching the same question in different ways until I really understand it. My class just finished talking about thermochemistry and when I met with him today, I was able to do a lot of the questions on my own - a testament to him doing his job well. A couple of weeks ago, I had no idea where to start with most of the questions. Sometimes he mixes things up a little bit, but upon asking more questions and connecting the dots on my own, we almost always end up at the correct answer. We're moving on to electrochemistry in lecture next week, and he said that he remembers electrochemistry better than thermochemistry. I hope he's right, because I don't understand any of it at this point, despite having learned it a year ago. He's been available every time I've scheduled a session, even when I ask if he's available only a couple of days in advance, and has been able to easily reschedule when I accidentally overbook a particular part of my day.

As a second-language English student, studying at an American University in the middle east I had trouble in my marketing course. I found Mr. Jim on WyzAnt and he agreed to tutor me via Skype as I lived far away (Middle East) and we were able to find a time that was convenient to both of us (time zone difference: I am 11hrs ahead). It was really effective for me as Mr. Jim helped me a lot; he made it easy to understand the concepts, the wording used, and provided me with ample real life examples he experienced related to the content.
