Abraham

Your Algebra, Calculus, Geometry, Physics, Trigonometry Tutor

For the last 3 years, I have taught After School program as a volunteer for K-7 in Photo Journalism and Electronics Arts in an elementary and middle school. In many presentations, I designed and built 2D/3D graphics and animation programs to stress deeper understanding on some projects. Students in upper grades get to build projects ranging from compound microscope to solar dish framing to digital thermometers all using recycled materials from spent disposable cameras to old cell phones. ADD/ADHD

ADD/ADHD Request Certification: My experience from some high school and college communities enable me to deal appropriately and to respond to the special needs of these children and adults. I have over seven years of experience with young pupils and students both in voluntary teaching and private tutoring capacity. I have specifically provided tutoring services to some high school students with extreme cases of focus and attention deficits with severe sensitivity to distractions. Often, these distractions comes in the form of personal communication devices, laptops, and listening electronics. The most these students have in common were extreme poor performance in highly abstract mathematics such as some parts in Calculus, Differential Equations, Statistics and Probability. I have addressed these learning differences through a combination of patience, more breaks during intervals, identifying most productive time for the student to learn or being flexible in time, being resourceful in student's inclination to use highly distractive devices and substitute these with productive programs related to the course. By adhering to structured expectations, most students find it convenient for them to work and learn with me.

One of my specialties is in electrical stimulus with over twenty years applied experience in electrical circuit simulation, test, and validation. Human brain neurologic circuit had been the model in the development of computer processing unit. Adults and student behavior when it comes to academic difficulties are the results of brain neuron circuit function. My experience with young students and adults who had been diagnosed or exhibited symptoms with autism spanned over 7 years. For the last five years, I helped students and adults with devastating and life-changing autistic brain disorders through a series of cognitive and multi-faceted approaches and techniques. A series of continuing assessment follows before and after every improvement is detected and measured. Each individual case is taken care of differently depending on lightness or severity, and frequency of symptoms. The needs of these individuals with autism varies, hence, techniques and approaches are different. There are similarities to each sensory and processing exercises. The re-training of the brain functions are different for each autistic individual and in most cases, a long term remedy is required.

C++

My past industrial experience required and comprised writing codes in C and C++ programs particularly during the development of a new technology prior to production process. There were several options and varieties of programs that were available and one of them is C and C++ programs. For several years, I have gone to being a casual coding writer and debugger into user of numerical analyser that encapsulates among other things C and C++ programs. One of the best applications I have implemented was the writing of codes based from a communications hardware that relayed to and from communications traffic either simultaneously or instantaneously linking response and response times hardware switching using embedded C++ programming both at the core hardware and at the interactive website whose server-side programming was also programmed as part of embedded protocols. This facilitated the efficient implementation of instant communications whether one is using land line, mobile, and other data communications. These works were implemented under the electrical contracting enterprise for both client-server interactive applications.

I hired Abraham to help me with my statistics class. Math has never been an easy class for me but with my tutors help I finally started to understand it. We used different calculators but he went out of his way to research mine to show me how to use it. To save time, I went to each session with bullet points of what I needed help with; vocabulary, calculator questions, or HW problems I didn't understand. He was very patient (even when I wasn't) he met me at a coffee shop close to my house, which was convenient and he was always on time. I highly recommend him.

Norma M. from San Jose, CA

My son is confident he knows the material he needed to learn and feels great. I really appreciated how Abraham was willing to work with my son's schedule.

Marissa G. from Morgan Hill, CA

Abe is very knowledgeable and patient tutor for my son on the subject of Physics. I gave him a 5-star rating due to his command of the subject and was able to pinpoint the problem that my son was stuck on. But because my son is not the tutoring type & wanted to figure things out himself, we dropped our sessions with Abe.

Felix B. from San Jose, CA

After a difficult Calculus AB year that our High school Junior passed with a C, we worried about the much harder Calculus BC. We found Abe(Abraham G.) on WyzAnt to help our student with Calculus BC as a Senior, we scheduled two one hour sessions per week in our home. Even to the first session Abe arrived knowing what the class was studying! And he always brought extra material including AP test problems for the current chapter. At each session he would check progress of the class. After each session our student was happy and upbeat. Within few sessions our student looked forward to the tutoring. Normally Abe and our student were one week or two ahead of the class. Each time after our student was sick Abe spent extra time to get back on track quickly. During previous school years our student scored poorly on tests and got by largely on the homework points. Through this year Abe helped our student overcome this: First semester Calculus BC grade was a B! This got our student admitted to the university of choice. Year-end finals test(modeled after AP exam) grade was an A! Second semester grade will most likely be an A! Our student liked math already, but now enjoys it with confidence, and with confidence looks forward to university where the core classes will build on Calculus. Abe is very calm and patient; when it comes to math as a subject he draws from a great depth of knowledge. We are planning on Abe's help for our younger child. Abe we are lucky and very grateful to have found you. Update: Wow, our student got an A for the second semester of Calculus BC!

Megan A. from Fremont, CA

Did a great job and was flexible with the schedule. My daughter was very comfortable with his style. We will use his expertise again and recommend him to anyone who needs AP Stats tutoring.

Jan F. from San Jose, CA

Abe seemed like a nice tutor and very capable, but my son felt he did not have the depth of knowledge he was looking for. To be fair, AP Chemistry was not listed as one of Abe's specialities nor does he have a chemistry degree and we feel our son will benefit more from someone with a degree in Chemistry.

Doris D. from Gilroy, CA

Abe was great with our son. I think his issue was in many areas, and it was not worth it to me to keep Abe coming if the kid wasn't doing his part. This was by no means a reflection of Abe's tutoring!

Mary B. from Fremont, CA

Tutoring with Abe drastically improved my grades in Advanced Statistics. He is very knowledgeable of the application of programs commonly used in statistics such as the IBM SPSS and the G-Power. He provides excellent interpretations of computation outputs from ANOVA, Linear Systems, Power Analysis and many other SPSS systems. Abe has been instrumental in putting me on the path to completing my PhD program on time. He is easy to keep in contact with and communicates in a manner which helps learners grasp complicated research concepts and problems. Thanks, Mary.

VICENTE F. from Hayward, CA

Excellent tutor, very intelligent smart explains everything in detail patient always on time available throughout the day very helpful guaranteed to see results

Tisha R. from Sunnyvale, CA

My son was having problems in Algebra. We got Abe as our tutor and within 4 tutoring sessions, my son had raised his grade by one letter grade. "Amazing" results. He is very accommodating with time.

Justin D. from Campbell, CA

Abe has an excellent understanding of the material and can make complex problems simple to understand. He also did a very good job of developing a connection with my Son to better understand where he needed help. Finally, Abe was very flexible when we needed to change the times or needed some extra help.

Lorenzo S. from Los Gatos, CA

My son had a couple of lessons so far and is really happy. Prof. Abe is tasked with getting him ahead with Geometry and Algebra 2 and so far he's managed to make the two subjects easy to understand.

Carol Ann G. from Morgan Hill, CA

My son has only had one session with Abe and already he is feeling more confident in his understanding of calculus. We highly recommend Abe as a tutor for his ability to explain complex math in such a patient manner.

Jessica P. from San Jose, CA

Abraham was extremely helpful in helping me fully understand the topic. He is patient and makes sure you fully understand the topic by giving you multiple problems.
