I am a bay area graduate (UC Berkeley) who has loved the learning process all my life. I have used my math and science skills throughout my engineering career, and enjoy engaging others in the learning process. Seeing a student smile as they begin to understand a difficult topic is very rewarding. I specialize in tutoring chemistry, math, and physics to help students achieve success in school, and on the various standardized tests. My goal is not only to help the student learn, but create ...

I have been tutoring with Clark for Organic chemistry for a few months now, and am very happy to be learning from him. He is very knowledgeable on the subject and if I ask him to go over a certain part he goes into detail regarding that part. He knows how much to go into and asks me if I want more detail requiring certain parts. Organic chemistry is a hard subject which requires lots of memorization, so if there are any parts which require memorization he will go over them and then relegates the rest to myself to memorization which I like. Also certain parts of organic chemistry require spatial thinking and being able to rotate 3 dimensional objects in your head. He is really good with this, but I am not. So certain things he tells me do not stick since this is hard for me, so my solution was to bring a modelling kit and use that. When presented with the kit he then uses it and shows me how the rotations work so he is really good with improvising learning with material. All together, he is really good tutor for chemistry (general, and AP as well as organic) and physics, since when explaining certain things in chemistry like bonding, I can tell he is also very knowledgeable in physics as well. So I would highly recommend Clark for these subjects because he is really good with these subjects and is able to adapt to different student's learning approaches.

He is extremely knowledgable about chemistry and teaches difficult concepts well. He makes sure the student learns the material before moving on. I definitely recommend him to others.

My daughter has only had several chemistry lessons with Clark and I can already tell that she is making good progress. She is starting to get better understanding of the concepts and is able to independently solve most of the problems as well.

Our son has been receiving AP Chemistry tutoring from Clark for about 4 months. Clark has been very thorough in his teaching of the material. Prior to finding Clark, our son had received tutoring from three other chemistry tutors. None of those tutors were able to explain the material as well as Clark. Clark is knowledgeable, methodical, and is able to explain difficult material in a clear, easy to understand manner. He has built an excellent rapport with our son. He is also very patient and takes time to assure that our son has understood the material. We would highly recommend Clark for tutoring chemistry.

I lucked out when I chose Clark just from his profile. When I corresponded with him before and after he started lessons, I found that he was willing to accommodate my child just so he could help in every way. In just 3 lessons my child's chemistry grades had gone up 2 points. Unfortunately, the semester came to and end. But I will want to have Clark help my child again if the need came up. Thank you Clark.

Clark is tutoring our high school sophomore daughter in Geometry and Physics. Her grades have improved, but it is her own personal confidence at problem solving that we enjoy most. She has a tendency to be shy, and afraid to ask questions, or even know what questions to ask, so can be easily stressed when learning a new topic. Clark seems to sense when she's particularly challenged and will help her ask the questions that help her both define and then approach a problem.

My son was struggling with the Chemistry Honor almost from week one. Half semester past, we decided to find him an tutor. The first tutor only last 6 classes. Luckily, We then found Mr. Clark. He is very patient and knowledgeable. He explains the concepts very well. My son follows and his class and his grade went up steadily. Besides patient, Mr. Clark is also very flexible. He is tutoring a lot of students. So his schedules is very tight. But when we need extra classes or class needed to change due to sports competition, he always works with us. I am not hesitate to recommend Mr. Clark to anyone who is seeking Chemistry tutor We wish we found Mr. Clark earlier.

Didn't talk down to me! Helped me get my problems solved and with some simple techniques to help me in testing.
Sandhya Y. from Sunnyvale, CA
When Clark came over we went over my homework for geometry. It was very helpful and now the lesson makes more sense to me. Also we went over my chem notes that I took myself. I explained to him why its important that I take notes and how it benefits me.
Mason P. from San Jose, CA
Not only helped with material but also small problems that greatly improved my scores. I would definitely recommend him if you're looking to greatly increase your test scores

My weekly meeting is certainly helping my overall understanding of concepts. I wish I had his help from the very start.

Clark was very easy to understand, and was very patient! He was fantastic at explaining every step, and breaking down the concepts of redox balancing and stoichometry. Thank you for your help Clark!

Clark went over some basic math principle; vocabulary, percentages, fractions, and the number line . He was able to teach me some really great mathematical strategies for figuring out percentages . I would highly recommend Clark .

This review is based on my first class. I found Mr. Clark very helpful and straight to the point. I was able to understand what he taught and the way he worded things was very easy for me to grasp.
Gloria H. from Sunnyvale, CA
Clark is very knowledgeable and is very good at probing for understanding. He breaks down problems into manageable concepts to make sure the fundamentals are clear.

We went through the textbook we'll be using and charted a small lesson plan going forward. Has many good examples and explanations. I'll be working with him more methodically for a while
