I grew up on the east coast, and have always loved learning and teaching. As a child, my teachers frequently had to tell me to stop helping my classmates. I got my undergraduate degree at the University of Maryland in Plant Sciences and English. While there, I worked at the Writing Center helping other students with their papers and as a sophomore, was chosen as a teaching assistant for a 170-seat lab course.
