Beverly

Art Tutor for all ages

Art is my passion and I have drawn, painted, sculpted and created art my entire life. I have taken classes in figure drawing, sculpture, graphic arts, Chinese brush painting, ceramics, color, watercolor, and pastels, and am always learning new ways of creating. I love helping people tap into their inner artists, express themselves visually, and learn techniques and skills for art-making and creating. I believe that art should not be judged - there are no mistakes. When teaching, I emphasize...

Beverly is very nice. She is very positive and very supportive of the young artist (our daughter) and the creative process. She always had a learning objective for each lesson that helped our daughter learn new concepts. Beverly is highly recommended.

I am a physician, recently retired, and I never learned how to draw. In fact I was terrified of drawing. Beverly has been an excellent tutor for me. She has patiently taken me through baby-steps in sketching. She has tailored the lessons to help me be more at ease with practicing, learning, making mistakes and learning some more. Beverly has encouraged me to be more fluid and less precision-oriented. I find I am really enjoying the whole process. She is nonjudgmental, encouraging and, when she sketches along with me, truly inspiring. I feel fortunate to have found such a talented, gentle teacher.

Beverly is a very knowledgeable and patient tutor. She explains concepts, processes, basics and the fundamentals so they are easily understood. Beverly helps the student to learn and grow through real life examples. She teaches and shows the student "how to" and helps the student overcome any problems they may encounter. I very much appreciate the opportunity to learn from Beverly.

Beverly has been working with my 9-year old daughter for about three months now, two lessons per week. She is patient, knowledgeable person, and is certainly a gifted teacher. What is very important, Beverly tries to develop in my daughter a self-determined approach to art, so that she can really express herself through drawing. In fact, this is a very mild approach that really fosters creativity. Over rather short period of time, my daughter’s drawings became significantly more complex, and she likes to draw more. At times, I and my wife are surprised by the amount of detail she notices and puts into her drawings. Most importantly, we can see a very distinctive style, a personality in these drawings. We are happy with our tutor!
