I am a physician, recently retired, and I never learned how to draw. In fact I was terrified of drawing. Beverly has been an excellent tutor for me. She has patiently taken me through baby-steps in sketching. She has tailored the lessons to help me be more at ease with practicing, learning, making mistakes and learning some more. Beverly has encouraged me to be more fluid and less precision-oriented. I find I am really enjoying the whole process. Beverly is a very knowledgeable and patient tutor. She explains concepts, processes, basics and the fundamentals so they are easily understood. Beverly has been working with my 9-year old daughter for about three months now, two lessons per week. She is patient, knowledgeable person, and is certainly a gifted teacher. What is very important, Beverly tries to develop in my daughter a self-determined approach to art, so that she can really express herself through drawing. In fact, this is a very mild approach that really fosters creativity. Over rather short period of time, my daughter’s drawings became significantly more complex, and she likes to draw more. At times, I and my wife are surprised by the amount of detail she notices and puts into her drawings. Most importantly, we can see a very distinctive style, a personality in these drawings. We are happy with our tutor!
