As a former Associate Professor of Middle East History at the United States Air Force Academy, I had the privilege of teaching thousands of cadets in World, Middle East, and Military History. I graduated from the Air Force Academy with a Bachelor of Science degree and a major in International Affairs. I was on the Dean's List for seven of eight semesters. Richard tutored my daughter who needed to raise her ACT scores by just 2 points to qualify for a scholarship at the college of her choice. She had taken the ACT on more than one occasion with little improvement, but with Richard's help, her first attempt after tutoring was successful. Richard was able to help her see what her weaknesses were and how she could improve, giving her homework assignments which helped strengthen the areas she needed to work on. She was highly motivated and enjoyed the challenges that Richard gave her despite the hard work involved. Thanks to WyzAnt and Richard -- we really appreciate your service!

I am happy to recommend Richard R to other people as a tutor. My son needed to pull up his ACT scores in order to qualify for college. Richard worked with my son for many hours teaching him how to improve his score. He increased my son's confidence and test taking ability with a happy result.

Our son was applying to USAFA and while his grades were good, he needed help on the English section of the ACT and the SAT. Richard was the perfect tutor because he has a complete understanding of the most effective way to approach the tests. We had a short amount of time for our son to improve his scores. Through practice testing and in depth evaluation of our son's answers, Richard identified, addressed and resolved the problems. Our son raised his scores to the necessary levels and will be a member of the USAFA class of 2016! Without Richard's tutoring, it's a very real possibility our son might not have reached his goal. If the AFA is the goal for your child, we highly encourage you to hire Richard. Due to his background, he knows what the Academy requires and even taught the "How to Study" class to Cadets. He graduated from the Academy and has worked extensively in Admissions. The admissions requirements are tough at the AFA. We're confident Richard will be helpful in getting your child into whichever school they choose. Richard was very flexible on scheduling with our son. Our son is a three sport athlete and his commitments are numerous. Richard was very understanding and willing to make times work. We even enjoyed working through WyzAnt. We would have been more pleased if our son had obtained the scores he needed on the first tests he took. However, that wasn't reality. Because of WyzAnt, we didn't have to make sure our son had a check every time he had a tutoring session. The billing was accurate and simple. We're really thankful to Richard and he has our highest recommendation!
