Finding a tutor that can TEACH is really difficult, and then when you add the requirements of being kind, patient, and encouraging to the list, it seems that you have an impossible task. I was faced with retaking business calculus, and was terrified. I looked and checked into many tutors - many were just "kids" who'd already passed calculus and now thought they could tell someone else how to pass. This might work for some students, but I really needed an instructor, and I was so very lucky to find Laura. She took time to make sure that I had all the formulas understood and the rules learned. She showed me different ways to approach equations, and even after retelling me 100 times, she was still kind and understanding. I would gladly recommend Laura to any student looking for help learning. She is amazing. If I come across another type of math that I need help with, I will call her again. She was professional and punctual. In addition, if you have last minute question or test anxiety (like I do), she takes the time to work with that. I will say it again: she was amazing. She was able to get this 30-something, single mom, college student to remember algebra stuff that was long forgotten and then pile new calc info on to that in a summer session at CU class, and I think she can that and more for other students. So, thank you Laura. Your ability to teach calculus allowed me to earn an A- in calculus. This is a 3 letter grade improvement over what I had earned at the end of last semester. You made the difference in my learning the material, and I am so very grateful!
