I was an AmeriCorps Denver Math Fellow during the 2015-2016 school year. I taught two 5th grade periods and three 6th grade periods through small group instruction. Our mission was to accelerate our students' learning towards grade level math proficiency and to close the opportunity gap. On the MAP test, my best performing 5th grade student showed 27 points of growth and my 6th grade student showed 21 points of growth from fall to spring.
