I have a BS (Honors) in Mathematics and a M.A.T. in Secondary Mathematics Education. I have worked in the commercial sector, providing mathematical solutions to business problems. I have taught children, and trained adults, and I have a good understanding of the needs of both. I enjoy reinforcing (and if needed re-teaching) the basics of mathematics to young children, and pre-algebra through calculus to older students. I have taught several children with ADHD, and tutored one boy through 5th & 6th grade (who was severely affected by ADHD). My youngest daughter has twice been assessed for ADHD, and has attention & focus issues, so I am well versed in best practices to engage these type of children. I have researched and used materials suited for different learning styles, and developed programs of study which more readily engage the student, & hence enable faster individual progress.
