My daughter and her friend began French lessons a few months ago, when they were 11 years old. Carole had offered us the option to have 30-min Skype lessons a few times a month and a 1-hour on-ground face-to-face meeting once a month. This arrangement has been working well for us. The two girls have no problem communicating with the teacher when they have their Skype lesson. They understand what the teacher says and if they need to see something in writing Carole types it for them. At the end of each lesson, either it is via Skype or on-ground, Carole emails the parents a summary of what was covered during the lesson. I find this helpful, as I can talk with my daughter about her French homework and point to specific concepts that need to be studied further.
