I was a trained tutor for a private learning center, Lindamood-Bell Learning Process, for two years. The company offers instruction in reading skills, reading comprehension and writing. In order to become a tutor for Lindamood-Bell, employees must pass a spelling and a critical thinking test and must go through intensive training in Lindamood-Bell's sensory-cognitive tutoring methods. The company's Visualizing and Verbalizing program has proven successful for individuals with autism. I have worked with autistic students ranging from age 5 to age 21.
