Experienced Teacher (all subjects K-6) and Published Children's Author

If you are looking for a K-6 grade tutor, I would love the opportunity to work with your child! I am a former middle school teacher who taught at a private school in Massachusetts before beginning my career as a published children's author. I also home schooled all three of my children from first grade through high school. In addition, I earned a bachelor's degree from Bryant University, and graduated from a two year Bible college program. I have also taken numerous CE courses at ACSI (As...

Michelle was very professional. She is excellent at communicating with the parent and providing feedback. She is very transparent about her goals and how she plans to accomplish them. My child was definitely comfortable with her and enjoyed his experience. She comes across as extremely capable and knowledgeable. I appreciate her willingness to travel to us and do what she can to prepare my child for kindergarten. Look forward to future sessions.

My son has a specified learning disability. As his parents we out source summer learning instead of opting for summer school. We are so grateful we have found Michelle. She is kind, patient and knowledgeable. Most of all she has already taught my son how to do some common core math that he struggled with all last school year, and it only took a quick 20 minute review for him to "get it". He was so happy and we couldn't be more pleased! Thank you Michelle, you are making a huge difference in our lives!

I am beginning to see progress with Michelle's technique of tutoring my grandson. It is apparent that she spends a great deal of time preparing for each lesson. She makes learning a fun activity and is always able to adapt herself to his moods or lack of attention. Her written reviews are completely honest a extremely thorough. She is definitely the best person to tutor my grandson and I feel the cost is thoroughly worth it.

When Michelle started working with my son shortly after his 5th birthday, he had minimal reading ability. He knew his letters and their sounds, but was struggling to put the sounds together to see how they formed words. He struggled with me teaching him as he lacked confidence and was embarrassed to make mistakes with me, so he wouldn't try. That's when I found Michelle. She works with my son for one hour, once a week. In one year's time, my son now reads at nearly a second grade level. He has more confidence when reading, and has a great concept of the phonetic rules and exceptions that he can correct himself when reading a new word for the first time. Michelle's use of the Abeka program goes above and beyond. Her lessons begin with the Abeka Handbook for Reading, then she moved into more complex rules and sounds. And because my son is high energy and hated doing drills, she adapted the lessons right from the start to be engaging for him and more tailored for his learning style. He may put up a small fight about going to his lessons, but he truly loves Michelle and enjoys working with her. I would highly recommend anyone looking for a tutor to contact Michelle. For my first experience with hiring a tutor, this has exceeded my expectations.
