In May, I graduated Phi Beta Kappa and magna cum laude from Columbia University, where I studied in the Latin American and Iberian Cultures department. Almost all of my coursework for my major was in Spanish, and I wrote 20-page academic papers in the language. I also studied abroad in Madrid, Spain, during my junior year of college (and in Cantabria during high school).
