Milagros

Spanish Tutor (Native Speaker)

I am a native Spanish speaker, born and raised in Cadiz, Spain, one of the most beautiful places on Earth. I have taught Spanish language classes for over 15 years, both in an academic institutions and privately. I love to teach and my past students will attest that they not only learned a lot from me, but also had fun doing so. If you would like references from some of my past students, please ask me and I would be glad to provide them for you. I returned to the USA in 2010 after retur...

Mila was a great tutor. Her availability was flexible and she was very friendly. She has a deep knowledge of Spanish and my son learned quite a bit with her. I would definitely use her again and recommend her to others.

I am hesitant when it comes to meeting people on the internet; however I was in great need of a tutor. I sought a tutor to maintain my 3.8 G.P.A. I arrived at Milagros' home and she was pleasantly awaiting my presence with a smile on her face. I entered her home and she was extremely hospitable. I explained to her my average in Spanish was a C+ and I would like to improve my overall grade. She reviewed the material thoroughly and answered all of my questions. She spoke to me in Spanish perfectly and gave me ample time to respond. It was so kind of her to offer me a light snack. Kindness and knowledge is an important attribute in my opinion. I will definitely take more tutoring lessons with her. I took my final one week later and achieved a 105.0; and final grade "A". I actually received the total five points on my extra credit question! My next quest is to visit Spain next year! I will definitely be prepared to converse with the natives. Thank you so much Milagros! You are a great tutor with a wealth of knowledge.

As a native speaker, Mila not only instructed my son in the essentials but also educated him on the variety of cultures and dialects of the many Spanish speaking countries. My son enjoyed every lesson and looked forward to them, and he's 16! I highly recommend Mila, without reservation.

I had a great experience working with Milagros improving my Spanish before I go to Oaxaca. I only wish I had more time to practice up before I go. I leave next week for a three week self study abroad in the south of Mexico. Milagros has a very good method of letting you speak and then pointing out your mistakes. She doesn't let much get by her. It can be very tedious to learn a new language and you need somebody to nitpick your mistakes and she does a great job at this. She has a very extensive background speaking Spanish since she is from Cadiz, Spain. We would meet for 1 to 3 hours a day and either just have a conversation and she would tell me my shortcoming. Or I would try to bring a short essay about a topic and have her tell me what I did wrong grammatically. She would also do exercises from a book where I had to listen to her and respond back accordingly. She is five stars all the way and I will probably taking a class or two after I return from Mexico.

I wanted to review the subjunctive and she did a great review and then set up a bunch of exercises for me to do for practice. We talked a lot during the lesson which was very helpful. Very clear Spanish and easy to understand. Extremely friendly!

I came to her desperate to boost my Spanish grade in school and she got my average up from a C to a low A in a matter of weeks! She is great at working at your pace and will cater her lessons to what I need to learn for that weeks quiz. She is very patient and provides extra worksheets if I want to practice the lessons outside of class. She has given me great tricks to help remember certain rules that I wouldn't get in my class at school. I would absolutely recommend Mila to anyone that wants to learn Spanish!

She is patient and does all the little extra things to make sure I learn the language well. I wish her well.

Mila, who is from Spain, is first, a very good teacher. She has a good style and will go at what ever speed works for you. It is excellent to be taught by a native speaking Spanish person. However she also has a great understanding of what the language differences and uses are between Latin American Spanish and that which is spoken in Spain. It's really interesting to understand these difference. She also is very good with her own understanding and knowledge of English. What could be better than being guided along the path of leaning than by one who also has traveled this same path in order to learn English. She is very professional and I've learned a great deal in my lessons. I would readily recommend Mila to anyone.

I worked with Milagros in anticipation of a trip to Spain. Before studying with Milagros I had done some self study and worked with a different teacher. Milagros quickly assessed my level of Spanish and pushed forward at just the right pace for me. By the time I left for Spain I was able to communicate well enough to ask directions, negotiate with a shop owner and generally get around in some parts of Spain where little English was spoken. She introduced me to wonderful Spanish literature at a level I could read and enjoy. Milagros was always both warm and professional. She was completely reliable in keeping appointments. She provided an array of materials that were extremely helpful. I highly recommend her as a teacher.

Milagros was most welcoming and worked with me on furthering my psychological Spanish knowledge. She was excellent at assessing my level and providing me the assistance I needed with particular terms, phrasing and questions. I am sure she is incredible with students of all levels.
